PANGEA
Nui simm’ tutt’uno: il giardino fa vivere la vegetazione dei diversi continenti del mondo ed è casa collettiva. C’è un terreno comune che lega al di là delle differenze: siamo donne e uomini con uguali diritti e dignità.
We are one: the garden brings to life the vegetation of the world’s different continents and is a collective home. There is a common ground that binds beyond differences: we are women and men with equal rights and dignity.
Nel 2016 nasce e si sviluppa fino ad oggi il progetto PANGEA: un progetto di formazione alla nonviolenza e alla cura del verde pubblico che mette insieme scuole, associazioni e cittadini attivi del territorio di Scampia e non solo. Il progetto è incentrato sulla riqualificazione di un’area di circa 4.000 mq in Largo Dino Battaglia, suddivisa in sei aiuole prima abbandonate e diventate discariche abusive. Il progetto prevede due itinerari che si intrecciano: una ricerca e la costruzione di una mappa dei personaggi della nonviolenza dei diversi continenti e la costruzione del giardino dei cinque continenti e della nonviolenza inserendo in cinque aiuole alcune piante che caratterizzano la vegetazione dei vari continenti. La sesta aiuola è stata dedicata al Mediterraneo, culla di civiltà. PANGEA è un progetto di riappropriazione e recupero dello spazio pubblico totalmente gestito dal basso.
In 2016 the PANGEA project was born and has developed to date: a training project on non violence and the care of public green spaces that brings together schools, associations and active citizens from the Scampia area and beyond. The project focuses on the redevelopment of an area of approximately 4.000 square metres in Largo Dino Battaglia, divided into six flower beds that were previously abandoned and had become illegal dumps. The project includes two intertwining itineraries: a research and construction of a map of the characters of non-violence from the different continents and the construction of a garden of the five continents and of non-violence by inserting some plants characterising the vegetation of the various continents in five flowerbeds. The sixth flowerbed was dedicated to the Mediterranean, cradle of civilisation. PANGEA is a project of re-appropriation and recovery of public space totally managed from below.
